DV SERIES NO POST AND BLINKING LIGHT

 THIS TYPE OF FAULT IS ALWAYS FROM A FAULY COMPONENT OR MISSING PARTS NEAR THE SOUTH OR NORTH BRIGE. SO CAREFULLY LOOK FOR FALLING PARTS DUE TO EXCESS HEAT. So look at  the cap that was to be seated on the South Bridge was sitting on the edge of it. Totally out of place.   I always look closely at the motherboard before attempting repairs. Parts get old, solder gets weak.

DELL INSPIRION 1100 SHOWS AND DISPLAY GOES OFF IN 4 SECONDS. this laptop was brought in to my desk and the customer says it does not show at all but the fault is actually from the graphic board as it indicates that other system activities are on. to solve this is simple cause it is not a major vga failure but a conflict failure on the display side. just disconnect vga board from the system and insert it back. next connect an external monitor to it.it may not display to the external monitor but the monitor will reset the vga. the system now work fine for about 5 hours

DV9000 WITH FAINT DISPLAY BUT DISPLAY WELL IN EXTERNAL MONITOR

THE DV97OO WAS BROUGHT TO MY DESK AND THE CUSTOMER SAID IT DROP DOWN FROM HIS MOTORCYCLE. INITIALLY I THOUGH IT SHOULD BE INVERTER BOARD THAT POWERS THE CCFL BULB EMBEDED IN THE SCREEN, SINCE THE INVERTER VOLTAGES ARE OKAY. BUT THE NEW INVERTER BOARD DIDN'T WORK. SO I CHANGE IT WITH A NEW SCREEN AND IT WORKS, SO THAT TELLS ME THAT THAT IT IS FROM THE CCFL BULB.
SO I CAREFULLY REMOVE THE WHITE TAPE AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN AND REMOVED THE BROKEN BULB.
I GOT A SALVAGED BULB FROM A DAMAGED SCREEN WHICH I USED TO REPLACE IT AND THE LAPTOP WORKS FINE

Hp compaq 6735b blink 5 times

I I HAVE SEVEN HP 6735B MAINBOARD ON MY BENCH FOR REPAIRS AND ONE COMPAQ 615. FIVE OUT OF THE SEVEN ARE DOING THE SAME THING. THE CAP LOCK LIGHT BLINKS 5 TIMES AND ACCORDING TO HP ERROR CODE IT MEANS GENERAL MAINBOARD ERROR. I AM COMPILING A NOTE ON HOW I SOLVED IT. IT WILL BE AVAILABLE VERY SOON.THE OTHER TWO WERE SHUTTING OF THE CHARGER.

2. A power source like your generator set.
3. A universal charger in case if the particular laptop
charger is not available.
4. Set of screw drivers
5. Paper clip or tiny while incase of jumper
6. A drawing book for apprentices who may find it
difficult to recoupled dismantled laptop.

Note . backdoor password cannot wipe your laptop bios
password.

MEHOD 1 USING ACER LAPOP AS A CASE SUDY
Acer laptop has a special bios sequence that can be so
tricky and very confusing but I can show how to do it in
few minutes. These steps are simple and picture
illustrated.
You can handle or solve bios password problems by either
flashing the bios but this can be done by a professional
which is very risky and can damage the laptop,
Or by replacing certain security chip or resetting the one
in the board, this will be costly and also risky.
Or by contracting the manufacturers. Well, good luck!
Above all am going to show you the simplest way to
bypass it. The truth is that the bios password will
prevent you from setting the boot order because the
default boot order is either ide or USB devices(ide or
sata type depending on the type hdd the laptop has)
Don’t worry, follow these steps:

1. Switch off the laptop, and remove the hard disk
from the back of the laptop.
2. You need external USB mass storage drive that you
will use to connect it to another computer.
You will insert your hard disk into the enclosure before
you plug it to the other system but make sure that
Easues partition magic is installed

3. You also need third party software like epm
partition magic (click here to download it). Install
this software in the other computer before you plug
in the USB mass storage device.
4. then open the software select on the hdd, then
press delete and after that click apply, the system
may require to boot(allow it to do so). When this is
done, if open the epm again, your hdd will show in the
window (UNALLOCATED). Don creates partition,
just disconnect the hdd and insert it back to your
Acer laptop.
